John Kirby, spokesman for the White House National Security Council, announced that the American military has shot down an unidentified flying object that appeared over Alaska, as it posed a potential threat.
Kirby confirmed that the Department of Defense was monitoring the flying object and that it represented a “reasonable threat to civil aviation safety.”
He stated that President Biden ordered the military to “take down” the object in the last hour.
Kirby momentarily made a mistake by referring to the object as a balloon. He quickly corrected himself, explaining that officials are not sure what it is and that the remains of the object could help determine more information about the downed object.
When asked about whether the US has talked to Chinese officials regarding the recently discovered object, Kirby stated that he does not know who the owner of the flying object is.
Kirby noted that a pilot’s assessment of the object, prior to being shot down, showed that it was unmanned.
He added that it seems that the object did not have any maneuvering abilities, compared to a Chinese surveillance balloon, and that it was mostly controlled by wind. The object was the size of a car and the first information about it was received last night. In fact, the American military has shot down a UFO!
